WINEMAKER’S EDGE
Privacy policy
Effective October 29, 2026
This policy explains how Winemaker’s Edge handles information in the Winemaker’s Edge iPhone app and on the Winemaker’s Edge website. The app is designed to keep your cellar records on your device. Winemaker’s Edge does not operate an account system or a cloud service for those records.
The app does not send your cellar records to Winemaker’s Edge. It does not use third-party analytics or advertising trackers.
Information stored in the app
The app stores the information you enter, such as wine batch details, measurements, additions, tasting notes, photos, cellar tasks and reminders, bottle inventory and movement history, and sanitation checklist progress. The app uses SwiftData and files in its app storage on your device. Winemaker’s Edge does not receive or store this cellar information on its own servers.
Photos you select are stored in the app’s local storage. Reminders are scheduled as local notifications on your device.
Optional on-device helper
On supported devices running iOS 26 or later, the app can use Apple’s on-device Foundation Models to answer a question using the conversation and batch details you choose to include. This feature runs on the device and does not send those prompts or batch details to a Winemaker’s Edge server.
Exports and sharing
You can export a cellar archive or a wine-label PDF. An archive can include your batch records, notes, tasks, inventory, sanitation progress, and attached photos. The app prepares the file for you to save or share using the iOS options you select. Once you send or save a copy to another service or location, that provider’s privacy practices apply to the copy.
Purchases
Winemaker’s Edge Pro is offered as a one-time in-app purchase through Apple’s StoreKit. Apple processes the purchase. The app receives purchase and entitlement status so it can unlock Pro features. Winemaker’s Edge does not receive your Apple Account password or payment-card details. Apple’s handling of purchase information is described in Apple’s Privacy Policy.
Website and support email
The website does not use advertising trackers or analytics tools. It is hosted by Cloudflare, which may process technical information such as your IP address and request details to deliver and protect the website. See Cloudflare’s Privacy Policy.
If you email winemakersedge@gmail.com, your message and contact details are handled through Gmail. The developer uses the message to respond to your request and maintain relevant support correspondence. See Google’s Privacy Policy.
Links to other websites
The app may link to educational sources and product reference websites. If you choose to open an external link, the destination website may collect information under its own privacy policy. Winemaker’s Edge does not currently use affiliate tracking links.
Retention and deletion
Your cellar records remain in the app’s local storage until you remove them or remove the app from your device, subject to the device’s operating-system and backup settings. You can delete records in the app. The app does not maintain a remote copy to delete. Exported archives and files remain wherever you choose to save or share them, and must be deleted from those locations separately.
Support messages remain in the support mailbox while needed to respond, maintain a support history, or meet legal obligations. You can ask for a support message to be deleted by emailing the address below.
Children
Winemaker’s Edge is intended for people interested in home winemaking and is not designed for children.
Changes to this policy
If the app’s data practices change, this policy will be updated before or when those changes take effect. The current version will be available at this address.
